... It was a bit like downing a double shot of vodka. I knew it was going to have the effect I wanted, which was to have a good time but I wouldn't have fun getting there. That was untill my girlfirend introduced me to some wines that were better for me. This one in particular is lovely. Really nice. A great wine to drink and drink with ease. There is no bitterness to the taste because it is fruity, crisp and slips down the throat really easily. I find it a perfect wine for those summer evenings or just relaxing in front...more

Premium Review Echo Falls White Zinfandel: Say again... you want Pink?! (427 words)

Rose or blush wines are generally thought of as a bit lame in everyday circles. It's what you drink if you're a wine novice, particularly if you're female. It's thought of as being cheap and sweet. I don't know why. Maybe historically choice of blush wines was limited but, hand on heart, I think there are bad reds, whites and pinks out there but, bottle for bottle, far fewer bad pinks. Echo Falls is one of the established "brands" of wine emanating from California. This is one of my girlfriends favourites and to be honest having had it myself I can see why. Up untill a few years ago I was never a big wine lover. If somebody offered me wine with my meal I would regularly refuse. As I have got older either my taste buds have adjusted to it or I have found wines that are much better quality. I would always find wines way to bitter. They just would not sit right with me. It was a bit like downing a double shot of vodka. I knew it was going to have the effect I wanted, which was to have a good time but I wouldn't have fun getting there. Rose wine is usually a particular favourite with the ladies - but that doesnt mean it is for ladies only! I would recommend this for all wine lovers out there.
