In my continuous quest to look for non dairy alternative for tea and coffee, I was introduced to Ecomil almond drink yesterday. At first I was apprehensive as I never like the taste of almond in liquid form, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Ecomil Almond drink is a product of Nutriops, European company specializing in organic nut drinks. They claim to be the forefront of new development in the non-dairy sector, with a wide range of non-dairy milk alternatives.
Ecomil Almond drink is sweetened with agave syrup which is fruit sugar. Fruit sugar does not give you the high and lows that a normal sugar does.
I had coffee with the almond drink and I liken the taste to a speciality coffee you get in coffee bars. The almond taste in the coffee is great and no additional sugar is needed. In fact I find the drink a little too sweet. I think a little dash will be enough to enhance the flavour.
The almond drink can be taken on its own or in coffee, chocolate or tea. It can also be used in cooking or baking. It is dairy free and gluten free. I like the fact that it has less than 5% fat. It is good alternative for people with lactose intolerant and who do not like soya. It is suitable for vegans too.

I do like the almond drink in my coffee, it taste different and its taste good. However, I don't think I will be putting them in my drink all the time, it's too pricey for everyday consumption.
