 ... would try the local delicacies while i was there and this of course meant that i would drink turkish beer to accompany my turkish food. Normally i am very picky when it comes to alcohol and will only drink something i know is good like carling but i decided when the good looking turk behind the bar handed me a large botle of Efes that id give it a go, after all the turks drink it and theyre ok :D I was pleasantly suprised! Efes Pilsen is the most common Turkish beer. Having spent a summer, some years ago drinking lots of it in Turkey, I became incredibly fond of it. It's not got much in common with it's Czech namesakes but it's still not a bad beer. The thing you'll immediately notice about this beer, is that it appears to have a lack of bubbles and goes flat incredibly quickly. It doesn't really effect the taste though. The stubby little bottles as seen in the photo make it unique and funky, the lager itself is not particularly strong and I didn't realise that first time round but I recently had some in Glasgow and it's plain as day that it's not a killer!
