Egils Premium ... bitter. Alcohol Volume 5.7% Egils Premium beer is the product of a unique effort that has been the characteristic mark of The Egill Skallagrímsson Brewery for a whole century. The production process is longer, the malt is masked twice and fermentation is slower and last but not least Icelandic barley is used. Altogether this gives Egils Premium a distinct quality of softness and full-bodied taste.

When poured, it had a bit of a head and when compared to the ones I had previously drank, I thought that someone had shuck it up for 30 minutes but that wasn't the case! Premium was quite a delight and my patience with Egils pour brands had paid off, if only I'd bought several of these instead of the other naff ones! This was one of the cheapest beers I could find in Reykjavik, if I had tasted all the others before I probably wouldn't have bought it but I actually bought several different kinds at the same time in a beer tasting session towards the end of my stay. This cheap by Icelandic standard beer came in a white can with Premium across the middle and looked similar to a French lager in design.
