There's some sherry in there, but not too much (some of the supermarketey ones are way overloaded with it for my taste), and a kind of earthy, corny woody flavour that's lends it a kind of down-to-earth pleasantness. This stuff is terrific! Elijah Craig was the geezer who first discovered that putting liquor into charred oak barrels gave it a fantastic and original taste, thus inventing Kentucky bourbon. Appropriately, this bottle - the oldest Single Barrel Bourbon available in the world - is named after him. It's a classic bourbon, packed with vanilla and oak but slightly spicy too.
