What I like about the wine is that it has a really distinctive taste about it, but still manages to be light and refreshing. It has a pleasant after taste but does not linger on the palette. I personally really enjoy drinking it with sea food, but also like it with chicken as well. Whilst it may not be a fine...more

Premium Review Ernest & Julio Gallo White Grenache: A Pinker shade of white... (289 words)

This luscious wine is called "white" and has been put under the "white wines" category but it is in fact a delicate, delicious shade of pink - a rose wine to be precise. Being a dedicated lover of White Zinfandel wine this was all that was on the menu on two recent trips to a TGI Fridays restuarant that came close. I was not disappointed! Produced by Ernest and Julio Gallo, White Grenache is a quality wine - I do not have a bottle at home to give you the details supplied, but noted in the restuarant that it is 11% volume in alcohol content. In a restuarant such as this you are looking at about £12 a bottle but in shops it is ...  Read the complete review

Once upon a Mother's Day night, my Mum and I were treated by the family to a meal out. There were seven of us in all, including one child. Only my Mum and Dad didn't want wine, so we thought we'd get a bottle or two to keep us going through the starters. None of us are experts in wine, so we were opting for a bottle of Chardonnay, which we thought would be a safe bet. The restaurant however didn't have what we wanted in stock, and offered us an alternative. We ended up with a bottle of Ernest and Julio white grenache. Well it definately wasn't a chardonay! Ernest and Julio Gallo is a californaian winery. It is a popular brand within the UK, selling ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Ernest & Julio Gallo White Grenache: Being true to the grape (whatever that’s about!) (434 words)

First of all, I’m not drunk, but I AM slightly sozzled! – And because of you lot I’ve had to drink a WHOLE bottle of wine just so I could bring you the virtues and attributes of this delicious wine. Tchh! Ok, first off, DON’T put your wine in the fridge for longer than 10 minutes, (unless it’s bubbly) as this will take some of the taste and aroma away. ALWAYS store your wine horizontally, this keeps the cork damp and will be easier to pull and NEVER use a small glass, what’s the point!!! Ernest and Julio Gallo wines have been going for 70ish years and it has to be my most favouritest tipples I’ve been drinking ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A white wine that is pink? (418 words)

Scrummy, moreish, gorgeous.... To name a few words that describe this wine. I am not a wine buff by any means. A night round my friends' house with a bottle of wine and a video usually consists of the cheapes bottle of white I can find. (under £2.99), and then if it's too disgusting I just drink faster until I can't taste it any longer. White Grenache however, I savour every drop, and my friends will tell you how embarrassed they are when I lick the bottle to save every last drop. (disgusting I know but it really is too nice to waste). I came across this wine purely by accident. I definately wouldn't have bought it ...  Read the complete review

Ernest and Julio Gallo White Grenache is a real tasty and affordable wine that is enjoyable on its own, or with food. It is a light drink and is brilliant to enjoy in the summer.
