Advantages: good taste
Disadvantages: ?
After work last week I was feeling hot and thirsty I happened to be in Tesco s and thought I would buy myself a drink.
I was tempted by a lemon fanta. On the fanta display shelves were large 2-litre fanta light bottles buy one get one free for the price of £1.32p. No too big a bottle for me doubt if I could drink all that and I would look a bit odd drinking from a 2-litre bottle. Also on the shelf was a standard non-healthy 2-litre bottle, the same offer the same price. I could have bought 6 330ml cans for£2.19, but I only wanted 1 drink and I do not like drinking out of cans much, so I choose a small500ml bottle cost 77p.
I slipped my hand around the curved bottle it is shaped with a waist makes it easy to hold and drink from. I noticed the bottle was transparent and had little circles like bubbles in the plastic these were raised and were an extra help to gripping the bottle. The bottle has a lemon coloured label with fanta written on in blue. The label makes me think this is a cool refreshing drink. . The bottle is sealed with a yellow screw cap.
The drink inside is a cloudy yellowy greenish colour so plops into my trolley it goes. I rush to the till to pay I cant wait to get out of the shop for my drink.
Once outside the shop I twist open the yellow cap Psssssssssssttttt it goes as some of the fizz escapes.
I raise the bottle to my mouth for the first sip I can smell the lemons in it, Wow it is and lemony. Tastes a little like sherbet I think.
The lemon flavour is mild and this drink is not too sweet a little like a bitter lemon but with bubbles .The bubbles hit the back of my throat. This is not a drink I gulp down quickly but one to drink slowly.
I slowly drink this while I am waiting for my husband I find it refreshing. I can not drink the whole bottle though its a bit too much a can might have been a better size but hey its got a screw top on it so I can save it for later, I find this bottle a couple of days later and the drink has not gone flat so its still good.
I have just noticed that this is a fanta icy lemon supposed to be less cals I think. 50 Fanta is made by the coca-cola company, 50 kcals per 100ml carbohydrates 12 g no fat in this drink, but no protein either.
If you want a refreshing lemony drink I would certainly recommend this. If its hot you could put some ice cubes in it, mm wonder how it freezes to make ice-lollies might just try that. Heres hoping we get lots of hot weather to drink this.
