I don't know what I expected from this lemon flavoured Fanta drink, but it was certainly more than this. Fanta and TAngo are two products that I find very similar when it comes to the orange versions of both. Nicely carbonated, but not too fizzy, they are very refreshing. Similarly, I often find the 'traditional' lemonade drinks available from various sources to be nice and refreshing. However, this Fanta Lemon combines the two - the brand name Fanta, and the promise of a refreshing traditional lemonade flavour - yet fails to deliver either.

We bought a bottle of this yesterday in the hope of getting something different. We certainly got this, but not in a good way. It cost around the £2 mark for a 2 litre bottle. It's made with real lemon juice, and has no artificial flavours or colours. A 250ml serving (1/8 of a bottle) will give you over 20g of sugar and 85 calories, and a quick look at the ingredients shows that the 'real' lemon juice it uses is actually from concentrate. It's certainly a far cry from traditional or home made lemonade. You don't get the bitter bite that is so refreshing with real lemonade. What you get instead is the sweet and sickly sugary taste of the concentrate lemon juice.

Equally, the carbonation is disappointing to say the least. The first glass I had had a little fizz to it, but ultimately, you could gulp it almost straight away from opening it first time, and yes, the bottle was sealed when I bought.

All in all, this was a disappointing drink. It didn't taste horrible, in fact it was a pleasant taste in some ways, but overly sugary and without the usual quality I associate with the brand name 'Fanta'. I would have expected this kind of drink from a regular generic brand new, or an own brand, but from such a leading brand as Fanta, I was sadly disappointed, and won't be buying this one again.
