Disadvantages: Read review lol
When it comes to regular orange Fanta I'm a massive fan of it(please see review lol). So when I saw Fanta Orange 'Zero' (which I never knew existed before I spotted it in Sainsbury's priced at 79p for a 2 litre size (instead of the usual price of around abouts £1.15) I decided it must be worth trying out. Also this is available in other sizes and in a lot of other places too of course and you may have seen it about on your travels!
The Bottle I bought is of course the large 2 litre bottle. It is clear plastic with a screw on/off back, plastic lid to the top of it with white writing on it telling me it is 'Zero' and to open the bottle by hand. There is a large sticky orange label round it's middle telling me in bright blue and white writing that it is Fanta Zero, 'Orange' and that it's 'Great Fanta taste, zero added sugar' and that it's made with real fruit. There is a picture drawn on of an orange and if your familiar with Fanta products this fits nicely in with the range. On the back of the bottle (this time in small black writing) I'm told the size, that it's best served chilled, ingredients and nutritional information is given, I'm told that this bottle gives 8 x 250ml servings, contact details for Coco Cola (the manufacturer of this product are given), I'm told to recycle the bottle and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice enough, bright bottle with all the information you could possibly need on it.... this is.
The Drink....
Well it's a slightly cloudy orange in colour and you can of course see it through the bottle. The first time I opened my bottle and sipped it through out the day it was fizzy as anything though in a really fresh and pleasant way. However after that first initial day of opening my pop went flat even though I made sure the lid/cap was screwed on properly and put back in the fridge every time after having some.
Taste wise it is orange flavoured without a doubt. You can taste fresh oranges which are not too tart or harsh and it's the only fruity flavour you can of course taste within this drink. However this drink is killed flat dead (in more ways than one) by far too many sweeteners. Sure those sweeteners transport the oranges to your tongue but not only does it all flatten the drink there is a very odd after-taste left behind you can't shift very easily and that taste is somewhat tinny and makes you thirsty as hell (well it does me lol).
Overall....
I expected refreshment and I never got that from this drink at all. What I got was an overly sweet (in a weird way) juice rather than anything resembling carbonated soft drink to be honest with you. It goes flat in the glass almost as soon as it's poured and even when storing it well and properly it's even worse in the taste stakes than when first purchased!
I'm not one bit keen on this. They've done away with the sugar and loaded it full of nasty tasting sweeteners! Not nice in my view at all! Won't buy it again and not recommended from me I'm afraid!
