Advantages: Really refreshing, good value for money, not to fizzy!
Disadvantages: None at all!
I have never been a massive fan of fizzy drinks. If I go out to a bar or restaurant I tend to opt for the J20 option or a Britvic orange Juice. That said if I am partial for a glass of the fizzy stuff then I would always be buying Fanta. I have a sweet tooth as it is and a glass or this suits me great! I find Coke and Pepsi just that little bit to sickly sweet where as I find Fanta Orange more a citrus refreshing drink, just with lots of bubbles!
Fanta is now a global brand that now offers over 90 flavours worldwide, some of these only being available in specific Countries. It is produced by the Coca Cola Company and was first sold in Germany; it is now available all over the world. I have to admit that it is the Fanta Orange flavour that has always been my favourite. I have tried a couple of the other varieties but always come back to the orange flavour.
I think to most of us Fanta is something that we either buy in the larger 2 litre bottles or the 500ml bottles that we can carry around with us. You can also buy Fanta in cans; I last brought a pack of 6 cans for the price of £2.62. They were really handy to keep in the fridge and have as and when I fancied something.
As I previously said, fizzy pop is not something that I have often but when doing my weekly shop (usually in Tesco) if I spot it on offer I will occasionally treat myself to some. Currently you can buy two of the 2 litre bottles for £2.50. On its own the bottle can be brought for £1,54 but you will probably pay more for it if you are buying from a convenience / express store.
The Fanta bottle itself (I will describe the 2 litre bottle but the smaller 500ml is very similar) is made from clear transparent plastic, this bottle can also be recycled. You can see the Fanta through the bottle and it is bright orange in colour. The bottle has a paper wrapper around the centre of it, this has a Fanta logo on it, and this is blue in colour and in big bold writing. There is also a picture of an orange on the bottle, chopped in half. I think this is because this is the 'orange' flavour whereas the ' lemon' variety' has a picture of a lemon, simple really! The back of the bottle has ingredient listings and nutritional information as well as a list of other products from Fanta.
I usually chill the Fanta in the fridge before I consume it. I then unscrew the bright orange top and pour myself a glass. What I first notice about the taste of this drink is the citrus flavour to it. You can really taste the orange and it is full of flavour. The taste is strong but not at all overpowering. The drink is also quite sweet but not so sweet in my opinion that it is sickly sweet, rather than the taste putting me off I can't wait for more.
The orange is really refreshing and as you sip the drink it really does quench your thirst, especially on a hot day. The orange Fanta is obviously a fizzy drink but it is not so fizzy that all you can taste is bubbles, this is why I don't go for pop as I am not a fan of all the fizz but with the Fanta on my opinion the fizz is just the right amount and still leaves you being able to taste the drink.
I love that the drink leaves you wanting more; it really does taste that good in my opinion. The orange is so fresh and you would never believe that it is not made with fresh juice; it is in fact from concentrate.
A few pieces of nutritional information on the drink are as follows: (Per 100ml)
Calories ~ 126
Carbohydrate ~ 7.1g
Carbohydrate (of which sugars) ~ 7.1g
A fizzy drink will never be good for you as it will contain a fairly high sugar content but compared to other drinks the sugar content in the Fanta is not as high therefore this is not a bad drink to go for if you are after a fizzy treat.
In summary, I love this drink and it always manages to leave me feeling refreshed. I don't think you would like it if you don't like orange flavoured things as it really is bursting with orange flavour rather than it being just a hint. The drink is fizzy but not so bad that all you can taste is bubble!
I give this fabulous drink 5 out of 5
Thanks for reading.
