worth a try, but look for icy lemon too

It has a very striking colour, an enticing colour, I remember when it first came out and I bought a bottle, I wanted to love it, but sadly I could not. As a big fan of the icy lemon product, I tasted this and thought it lacked direction, finesse. The appeal of icy lemon was the strong single flavour, a flavour you could taste. This 'fruit twist' has no discernible flavours, just a mash of chemical fruits. It's not unpleasant to drink, just disappointing in it's simplicity as the tastes dissipate quickly and you're left wanting another sip, completely the opposite of Icy lemon where one sip keeps you entertained for a great length of time.

As with all the fanta products you can can get it in can's, 500ml bottles, or 2l bottles. The 500ml bottles are in a unique shape, which although lacking the iconic curvature of coca cola they impart their own sort of quirkiness, I think it actually makes them great to hold and the bottles have little raised spots on them so they are very tactile.

If you like strong flavours you'll probably be unimpressed, but for a simple (slightly fizzy) fruit drink I guess you could do a lot worse, but try the icy lemon for a real treat.

Nice drink, but don't think it is as well known

Fanta Fruit Twist has always been a drink that I have been unsure about. Perhaps because I grew up most of my life simply asking for Fanta, meaning I would expect to have a fizzy orange flavoured drink placed in front of me. To me Fanta will always be an orange flavoured drink. Although I don't think the flavour ever truly caught on because I find when I ask for Fanta nowadays, I'm not asked whether I would like orange or fruit twist, it's always orange.

So what can be said about this new flavour? First off I love the colour, which to me is cloudy red and screams out flavour.

      FLAVOUR
So what does it taste like? Like other reviews on here I find it extremely hard to pin down. Whatever the combination I find it nice and refreshing and certainly enjoying to the taste buds. It is certainly something different from the original orange flavour and I think Fanta where brave to try it.

      PACKAGING
As mentioned it is in a see through bottle showing of its dramatic red colour, which ties in well with it being a fruit twist drink. I imagine most fruit blending experiments would end up looking that colour. The label has also adopted this red tone to give it a distinct look, with Fanta fruit twist labelled on the front.

      DISTRIBUTION
Been a while since I noticed it in the supermarket but I believe it still comes in bottles, cans and multipacks.

Overall it is a nice drink and I have enjoyed it when I have had it but to me Fanta will always be orange and this will be left sitting in its shadow.

nice carbonated drink which is thirst quenching and very fruity

I like drinking a wide variety of drinks and today in the 99p store they had 2 bottles of this fanta fruit twist selling so of course I grabbed 2, one for me and one for my sister and off to the till we trotted. These normally cost about £1.20 in Sainsburys so of course this is a big bargain!

This fanta fruit twist is an arm of the coca-cola company so a well known brand which can be seen in many shops and supermarkets. It comes in a lovely transparent bottle with a red label and has a re-sealable twist cap making it easy to sip and save some for later!

Opening the bottle, the scent is strong and flavoursome and smells exactly how it tastes (if that makes sense!) For me it reminds me of fizzy peach and tropical juice and it is quite a summery and light drink which has a great balance of bubbles and juice. The ingredients state it contains 4% juice from concentrate of orange, passionfruit and peach which is quite apt as all these three flavours come through strongly giving the drink a lot of flavour and all balance and compliment each other out (unlike other drinks I have tried that sounded nice but the fruits really didn't blend well together at all!).

This is one of the few fizzy drinks I can drink that doesn't seem to entice me to make me drink more and more as it actually satisfies my thirst. It is made with real fruit juice, and the label states it has no artificial colours and has natural flavours which makes me feel a whole heap better about drinking it! One thing about this drink I have noticed however is that once poured into a cup it seems to go flat rather quickly compared to other carbonated drinks which is disappointing. Funnily enough it does still taste nice flat, but of course when it is fizzy for me it tastes much better! I would recommend this drink to anyone who likes a very sweet and fruity fizzy drink who knows how to drink quickly!

A really nice fruity fizzy drink

This is a really nice fruity fizzy drink that makes a change from the usual basic pop flavours of fizzy orange and lemonade etc. The actual flavour it is supposed to be is orange, peach and passion fruit and the colour is an inviting summery red. It tastes really nice and fruity and is especially good straight out of the fridge with ice. It is a bit like a fizzy fruit punch.

The 500ml bottles are the same shape as other Fanta flavours - slightly odd. They have a narrowing towards the middle / top where you are supposed to hold the bottle but it isn't really that comfortable to hold it there so it is a bit pointless.

You can also get hold of it in a can or a 2L bottle. The only downside is that some small supermarkets don't stock the large 2L bottles , only the larger supermarkets do. I have also never seen it for sale in a pub which is a shame as it would make a nice change from the standard tango / coke / pepsi choice for those of us who don't drink alcohol.

I would recommend this as it tastes great and makes a refreshing change from the more well known flavours of fizz around.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A mixed fruit flavour drink that tastes rather too artificial for my liking.

As a general rule I'm not a big fizzy drink drinker, but sometimes it's nice to have something slightly different available, just as a change. I've tried a number of different Fanta drinks at various times from their Orange to some of their specials that they bring out just for a short time before removing from the range again such as the Fanta Beach which was truly delicious.

I thought when I tried this Fanta fruit twist that this was one of these limited edition flavours that wouldn't be around long, so I gave it a go fairly quickly on seeing it. I'll be honest though, I wasn't terribly impressed.

The Fanta fruit twist, has a mixture of flavours including orange, passion fruit and peach. Obviously being a fizzy drink it contains a lot of other ingredients too from carbonated water, to citric acid and a variety of chemicals and things. The three fruit flavours contained in this are all ones which I enjoy, so I was surprised to find that I disliked this as much as I did. I tried this straight from the cupboard the first time and wondered if perhaps this was one of those drinks that would be better drunk cold, so the second time I tried it chilled over ice.

It's hard to explain exactly what it was that I disliked, but there was a sort of underlying bitterness that I found rather off putting, and somehow the flavours didn't meld together the way I'd imagined that they would. The flavour was exceedingly artificial tasting, and I didn't really find it tasted of fruit at all.

I'm sure this drink will appeal to many people - in fact we still buy it occasionally as my husband likes it - but it really wasn't the drink for me. Drunk at room temperature or icy cold, it made no difference, but was still fairly unpalatable to me. As they also only do a full sugar version of this, it's unsuitable for anyone who prefers to drink a diet/zero version of their fizzy drinks.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A great and tasty drink! Go try it!

Fanta Fruit Twist is truly the best fizzy drink out there in my opinion, although I usually buy the 2 litre bottles because they are much better value at a usual price of £1 at selected stores like Tesco.
With a delicious and fruity taste it's a perfect thirst quenching drink, and a needed necessity for the hot summer days, but like the bottle says it's 'Best Served Super Cool' so don't forget to put it in the fridge for a fresh and fruity treat!
I was very surprised when I found out 'Fanta' was a creation of the Coca-Cola company,

          Good:
The good thing about Fanta is that they have a whole range of different flavours, but fruit twist is definetly the winner.
Available in Fanta Zero which has no added sugar, a great positive for kids who love it but get effected by hyperness!
Very cheap for a 2l bottle, a great bargain!

          Bad:
I was disappointed to see that there were very limited fruit flavours listed. And that an average 500ml bottle contains 188 calories and 46g of sugar, so it's a very unhealthy drink.
A 500ml bottle is very expensive at £1.08 at Tesco, incredibly expensive.

All in all a great and fruity delicious drink! Perfect for anyone in the summer months.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          a lovely fruity fizzy drink

I don't drink fizzy juice all that often, especially sugary fizzy juice as I worry about my teeth. Fanta fruit twist has to be one of my favourites though and I will have it every so often for a treat.

Fanta is part of the coca cola company and comes in a variety of of fruit flavours. These include orange, lemon, fruit twist and a new flavour red fruits. The orange and lemon flavours also come in "zero" variety which has no added sugar. I have had the orange and lemon varieties and I think they are ok, but I much much prefer the fruit twist, would love it more if it came in a sugar free variety!

The fanta fruit twist is a sort of pinky orange fizzy drink, it is available in 2 litre and 500ml bottles as well as 330ml cans (though I rarely see the cans about, the bottles are much more common). It is a mixed fruit flavour drink and contains 4% fruit juice. The fruit flavours in the drink are orange, passionfruit and peach and the flavour is lovely. It slightly reminds me of lilt (another favourite of mine) but without the pineapple.
Since this is a sugary drink it is not exactly good for you, the nutritional information is (per 500ml):

          Calories: 188
          Sugar: 46.2g
          Fat: 0g
          Saturates: 0g
          Salt: 0g

As expected this drink has a lot of sugar in, but that is typical for most sugary fizzy drinks, so as long as it is not drank all the time, it is fine for a treat.

Fanta fruit twist is pretty widely available, from garages to supermarkets, to cafes and corner shops. Expect to pay around £2 for a 2 litre bottle of fanta twist (though currently on offer in tescos for £1) and £1 for a 500ml bottle.

Overall I would definately recommend this drink to any one with a sweet tooth as it is really lovely and refreshing, especially straight from the fridge or in a glass with lots of ice, perfect on a nice summers day (if summer ever comes!)

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A dissapointing addition to the Fanta range.

As much as I try and drink water and sugar free drinks I do occasionally indulge in some fizzy pop. I have always liked the Fanta range of flavours and recently picked up a bottle of the Fanta fruit twist.

I purchased an individual 500ml sized bottle from my local convenience store for just £0.99 but have seen the same sized bottle both cheaper and more expensive in other stores. You can also purchase the fruit twist Fanta in cans and larger sharing sized bottles from most larger supermarkets.

The fruit twist Fanta is made by coca cola and is described on the bottle as being a 'tongue tingling sparkling mixed fruit drink'. Although it does not state obviously what fruit flavour it is if you cast your eye over the ingredients list you will find that it is made of a combination of orange, passion fruit and peach juice from concentrate.

The drink itself is a slightly cloudy dark orangey colour, I will say that with the cloudiness of the drink it did not appeal as much visually than some drinks do.

As you can imagine as this is a full sugar fizzy pop it is not that great for you, in fact a 500ml bottle contains 184 calories and a whopping 46.2g of sugar which is 52% of an adult's guideline daily amount!

The fruit twist Fanta had a lovely fizz when I opened the bottle but was not overly gassy so didn't leave me feeling bloated once I had drunk it. I will say that I did not get a 'tongue tingling' feeling when I drank the drink as it stated on the label. In fact I didn't really get a fruity one either, I was not expecting too much as when I read the ingredients listing I also noted that the fruit juice content only made up 4% of the drink but I hoped it would be better than it was. In fact I actually found the drink just far too sweet and a little sickly as a result. The peach flavour did seem to dominate over the other fruit flavours and peach is a rather sweet tasting fruit.

Overall this is not a drink that I will be purchasing again on a regular basis it is just too sweet for me. I have been told by some friends that it makes a nice cocktail base so maybe if I was to end up with another bottle that is what I would try with it.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              sweet sweet sweet

When I drink fizzy drinks I usually opt for cola but occasionally I prefer a fruity alternative. I find orange drinks quite sharp so recently opted for Fanta's Fruit Twist to meet my fizzy drink craving. I purchased a bottle of 500ml for just over £1, but it is also available in 2 litre bottles and 330ml cans.

The bottle is made of clear plastic with a red screw cap. The bottle is smooth and curved to fit into your hand comfortably and easily when drinking from it. Through the bottle you can see the drink which is a dark pink-orange in colour. The label is wrapped around the middle of the bottle and simply states the brand name and variety.

The drink is made with 4% fruit juice and is flavoured with orange, passionfruit and peach. It contains a lot of sugar - a 150ml serving contains 15% of an adults GDA of sugar and 56 calories. The drink is very fizzy - once the cap is opened there is an audible release of gas. It tastes very sweet and fruity. I would say the taste is probably predominantly the peach and passionfruit as the orange does not seem incredibly apparent to me. I personally found the drink too sweet for my taste, although I was pleased that it was not as sharp as I find fizzy orange drinks to be. I couldn't really drink a whole bottle of this due to the sweetness and it was not particularly refreshing either due to this factor. The fizziness was very good though - just what I would expect from a carbonated drink, not too fizzy that it hits the back of your throat, but not flat either.

Overall, I probably will not drink this again. It is just too sweet and sugary for my tastes. The fruit combination of orange, passionfruit and peach really appealed to me as this is not a common combination but I was disappointed that I couldn't really taste the orange in this drink. This is not as refreshing as I had hoped it would be either. The only use that I can think that I would have for this drink is perhaps using it to mix with either an alcoholic drink to make a fruity punch or a more bitter drink e.g. bitter lemon to take the sweetness out.

              Not the best drink!!

My review on fanta lemon is not complementary, it goes to say that this one won't be.
If you imagine an ice lolly melting, then drinking it. This is what this drink is like!

The taste is of no fruit I can put my finger on and is kind of sour so makes you more thirsty after drinking it! It us a bright red colour so doesn't look very natural nor appetising!

I would not choose thus off the shelf if I was thirsty and needed a drink. It too leaves a kind of fury feeling on teeth and goodness knows what damage is being done there!

Price wise this us the same as other fizzy drinks so no difference there however not a price I would want to be paying for a drink I don't like!

Would I buy this again? No not at all! I'm sure it us a very popular drink but not something I would want!

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              Good fruity drink

Until I looked in to it I had no idea there were so many different varieties of Fanta available internationally but apparently there are over ninety including some quite bizarre ones I really wouldn't have expected like strawberry and amazingly toffee. In Britain obviously there is orange and one of the others is Fruit Twist.
Fruit Twist is ideally suited to summer to be enjoyed on a nice picnic or at a barbecue and the flavour reminds me of a punch someone hosting a summer party or event might mix up in a bowl. The taste is extremely refreshing and punchy and really makes your mouth stand up and take notice. This is perfect in a glass with two or three ice cubes.

The logos on the cans and bottles are the same as the orange version yet the branding on the fruit twist reflects more of a pinkish red theme. A 500ml bottle of this can be purchased for around £1.10.

Like many carbonated and fizzy drinks this one is not the best for your health and therefore is probably best enjoyed every so often in moderation. In fact out of the three Fanta varieties available on the UK market the Fruit Twist version is the unhealthiest relatively. You will find in a 330ml can 124 calories and 30.5g of sugar which is an awful lot so if you have drunk any of this during the day then you really need to make sure you clean your teeth well. This is a great soft drink though and makes a change to your run of the mill colas and lemonades.

                lovely drink!

There are many different kinds of fanta out these days, and I think that this is my favourite one. It is totally addictive! I really like it and get it most days with my lunch!
The packaging is pretty standard for fanta. You can get in a 330ml can, 500ml bottle or 2L bottle, the 500ml bottle seems to the most easily available in different shops and general places, eg train stations. You can get all the varieties in supermarkets though, although its not the most popular of drinks such as Diet Coke, it is still well known and quite readily available. The colour scheme of this is red, a contrast to the orange of the normal fanta.
The actual drink is a deep red colour just like the colour scheme of the packaging. The taste is really nice, as is the smell - totally fruity! It definitely lives up to its name, and the combination of the fruits goes together really well. The flavours of this drink are orange, peach and passion fruit - you wouldn't expect that it would be that nice, but this seemingly random mixture really works! Its a very enjoyable drink and its better served cold, its very refreshing.
You can expect to pay about 60p for a can, £1 for a bottle and £1.50 for a 2L bottle in the majority of places, this will of course increase in places such as airports and cinemas!

A summery soft drink made from multiple fruits by the well known Fanta brand

Having walked around town with my family shopping this morning, we ended up in Asda buying a few last minute items before heading back to the car park but I was desperate to get something to quench my parched throat, so when we were in the drinks aisle, I had a quick look at the various bottles for sale and spotted a bright red, almost pink coloured 500ml Fanta bottle that seemed quite appealing, which on further inspection was labelled 'Fruit Twist' (for some reason that was quite well hidden at the side of the brand name logo) and I decided that I'd treat myself to it. Having finished most of the bottle, I thought why not review it? I've not really reviewed anything in the food and drink category here before but I'll give it my best shot - let me know what you think of the review, thanks!

                - The Bottle (Label, info.) -

As I say, the bottle is a quite bright red, almost pink colour. It has quite a summery look to it, with the label near the bottom of the bottle again having a similar red/pink colour plus the usual orange colour which represents the Fanta brand in general I think. The label on the front of the bottle has a couple of green circles which state 'Made with real fruit juices' and 'No artificial flavours or colours' (which is surprising given how bright it looks, although the juice/drink itself isn't quite as bright as the colours on the label, I suppose but all the same...).

Elsewhere on the label is a rather randon cartoon/drawing of a tree with the 'Fanta' logo on it and a hand sticking out which holds a bottle, plus there's a ghetto blaster below the tree. I can only imagine this is to indicate that the product is aimed at younger people (kids/teens/young adults), presumably. It also says 'Best served super cool' above that cartoon/drawing, super cool ie meaning chilled, so I guess the cartoon is their interpretation of being 'cool'.

Next to that is the usual RDA information, where it states that a 250ml serving contains:-

                Calories - 94 kcal - 5%
                Sugars - 23.1g - 26%
                Fat - 0.0g - 0%
                Saturates - 0.0g - 0%
                Salt - 0.0g - 0%

Bare in mind that the bottle is 500ml so if you drink the whole bottle in one serving then your consuming 10% of your RDA in calories and 52% of your RDA of sugar.

Elsewhere on the label the separate 'nutrition information (typical values per 100ml)' are stated, which also says that it contains 9.2g of carbohydrates, ie 18.4g per full bottle.

The recycle logo is also visible on the bottles label, so its nice to know that in a sense its environmentally friendly. There's also a small 'Made in GB' logo which is disappointingly hidden underneath the barcode away from the front of the label - I'd like to think we should be more proud that its made here and have that placed somewhere more prominent perhaps.

                - Ingredients -

Carbonated water, sugar (from beet and/or cane), fruit juice from concentrate (4%) (Orange, Passionfruit, Peach), Vegetable and plant concentrates (Carrot, Safflower), Citric acid, natural flavourings, preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Aspartame, Sodium Saccharin), Stabiliser (Glycerol esters of wood rosins). It also contains a source of Phenylalanine, so don't drink this if you're allergic to that ingredient.

Now on to the drink itself!

                - The Taste -

The first thing I noticed when I took my first sip of this drink was that it has a very sweet taste to it - you can tell it has a high sugar content (as mentioned above). However, thats not to say that its undrinkable, its quite a nice drink to have a bit of every while, although if you're very thirsty, I wouldn't recommend drinking too much too quick, or you could end up feeling a little queasy!

When you drink it, the taste lingers in your mouth for a while and you can definitely taste that there's a good mix of fruit flavours there, although its hard to exactly put your finger on which fruits are present, it is quite a pleasant taste overall I'd say. The label on the bottle proudly declares that its a 'tongue tingling sparkling mixed fruit drink with sugar and sweeteners' which I would agree with - there is definitely an element of uh tongue tingling-ness (lol), though it does taste a little watery at first, it has a decent aftertaste, which is why I say I wouldn't recommend consuming too much. However, this makes me think that perhaps, given how sweet and sugary it is, that perhaps its a good drink to have if your dehydrated or otherwise if you need a sugar boost, perhaps - I'm no expert, its just a thought.

                - Price -

This drink cost me £1 from Asda, though it may cost more to buy from chilled cabinets or vending machines. It shouldn't cost anymore than most other 500ml soft drinks, so its about average value for money, I'd say.

                - Conclusions -

I think this is a good summery drink, it certainly has a summery look to it in terms of the drinks colour and the label design.

It is very sweet, you can taste the sugar content, which stopped me from drinking too much too quickly as I'm not sure I could stomach it but then thats perhaps a good thing compared to other items where you can't taste that there's so much salt, fat or sugar - at least you're aware of it as you consume it!

This is clearly marketed/sold as a summer drink for younger people and I think its a good drink to have once in a while during the summer - it makes for a nice drink to treat yourself to every so often but I wouldn't drink it regularly as its just too sweet for my taste.

It makes a change from the regular Fanta Orange drink and I'm sure it would taste nice chilled (my bottle wasn't unfortunately), I'd recommend you try it but it won't be for everyone due to the amount of sugar present and I wouldn't recommend it for young children because of that - it makes for a nice sweet treat but nothing more, in my humble opinion.

I hope you found my review useful, thanks for all reads, rates and comments. I may post this review on Ciao UK later under the same username but I've posted it here first (for a change lol).

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  Full of flavour fruity drink

Fanta Fruit Twist is one of many products produced by The Coca Cola Company. I am a great lover of fizzy drinks and when I first saw this on the market I had to give it a try.

                  The Packaging Design
                  ==================
An eye-catching red/ orange colour. The design on the alluminium cans are slightly different to the bottles. The can has pictures on including a mixture of oranges, passion fruits and peaches. The can also has a tree with cloud hanging over it and a small stero at the foot of it. The bottle is made from plastic is designed in the same red/ orange colour with swirling red and orange patterns. Both the can and bottle have the Fanta Logo on and the flavour - Fruit Twist. On the back of both the can and the bottle nutritional information can be found along with a list of ingredients, the address and telephone number for The Coca Cola company.

                  The Look, Taste and Smell
                  =====================
The colour of Fanta Fruit Twist is almost the same as the packaging in a orange/ red colour, I feel it is a very inviting eye catching colour. The taste of Fanta Fruit Twist is one that is very hard to describe. I feel it hard to identify any of the individual flavours used although it does have a tangy and fruity taste. The product is extremely fizzy and to my liking although I must add that it does taste very sugary which adds to the impact of the taste. The texture of the product seems very smooth and a bit too easy to drink! The smell is very satisfying and smells as it tastes - extremely fruity.

                  My Overall Conclusion
                  =================
I love the taste of Fanta Fruit Twist even though I struggle to identify particular flavours. In my opinion there is a little too much sugar in this juice for my liking and the consistancy be slightly syrup like. The price is not cheap however not many carbonated drinks are nowadays. I also noticed in the ingredients there is carrot... now i can only presume that this was added for the colouring as I have never heard of carrot being in a carbonated drink before. I feel this is one of the weaker products produced by Coca Cola however it is a good mix of ingredients - when you know what these ingredients are!Wouldnt recommend it to anyone trying a weight loss diet due to the sugary content.
