First Cape First Selection Shiraz

I usually drink white wine but the other week to my horror we had none in the fridge! However my husband had a bottle of red wine in the cupboard so I decided to give it a go. The wine was a bottle of first cape selection Shiraz. First cape is a South African wine and comes from the Western cape, famous for its vineyards. Shiraz refers to the type of grape it is made from, in many countries Shiraz is known as Syrah. The Shiraz or Syrah grape is a dark skinned variety and produces wine with a powerful flavour.
