To any lover of good tea Fortnum and Mason is a Mecca, beckoning the enthusiast to its plush surroundings. Every conceivable type of flavour is available here, from the woodiest of China teas to the most delicate of Darjeelings. Just as in life there is no such thing as a free lunch, so at Fortnum's is there no such thing as a cheap tea. Therefore one must be aware of what is worth splasing out on, and what is not. If one wanted to damn Fortnum's Earl Grey with faint praise, one could say that it is a very subtle tea. Bergamont is the slightest of hints.
