Frederik Pilsner is an Estonian beer based on a Danish recipe and the outcome is distnctly mediocre. The design looks very mediocre and that's exactly what it is. It pours a pale golden colour and has a medium sized white head which seems to fade relatively quickly, their is some lacing but this goes about as quickly as the head. At 4.3%, its bang in the middle of a standard pilsener range but like so many European Pilsners it fails to make any ground on its Czech cousins. Tastewise it's acceptable but doesn't set the world alight with an almost flavourless taste, the only notable taste is a slightly astringent bitter grassy hops taste. Easy to ...
