Advantages: thick, creamy, tasty
Disadvantages: possibly the banana flavour, but i am biased
I have always been a big fan of milkshakes. They are tasty, refreshing, and must better for you than fizzy drinks. I have tried many, but there is only one that i keep coming back to. Frijj is made by dairy crest ltd, of shropshire. it has been one of the market leaders in the field of milkshakes for around fifteen years now, and is thick, and creamy and lovely!!!
strawberry - Really nice. Thick, and with a real nice strong taste. Like all frijj shakes it is very thick, but not too much so.
Banana - possibly the weakest of the range, or maybe its because of my hatred towards all banana flavoured things, but i just dont go for this one at all.
chocolate - Good nstrong taste again, really like a melted chocolate bar.
However, it is not just these three normal flavours that make this great. They periodically bring out limited edition flaavours, which are sometimes hard to find, but they are generally gorgeous. Past flavours that have been made before (not all tried by me) are custard, caramel, mint-choc-chip, raspberry doughnut, Jaffa Cake fudge brownie, and banoffee. wow! if you ever see the fudge brownie flavour on your travels, buy a whole batch and post them to me as they are the best. my address is :
the greedy bugger,
26 sweet-tooth avenue
sweety town
but seriously, it is great, i am drinking one now and loving every minute of it. tastes very similar to the mars bar drinks you can get, but its much better for you.
Whats in it?
1. its made with fresh milk
2. its rich in calcium
3. less than 3% fat
4. suitable for vegetarians
5. gluten free
per 100ml
367kj energy
3.6g protein
13.4g carbohydrate
2.1g fat
126mg calcium (16% rda)
Of the ingredients list, it is noticeable that 99% of the ingredients are milk and semi-skimmed milk. Its very good to know that not all the drinks manufacturers are filling their products with nasty extras that are only in the fine print, isn't it? All the flavourings etc are natural, too so its all good.
What do i think?
For me, this is the best range of milkshakes there is, with the main three flavours very strong (i;m sure the banana one is good too, but i just really hate banana flavoured things). But it is really the special flavours that are sooooo great. The fudge brownie one is fantastic, as was the banofee, but i think unfortunately that it is no more(at least i have not been able to find any). A 500ml bottle costs in and around the £1 mark. Tesco have had offers recently where you can get them for 74p buy one get one free!!! But them, love them, and dont be scared of the calories!!
Reccomended. G
