Advantages: Tasty, creamy, very thick, low fat, satisfying.

Disadvantages: None for me

Milkshakes are something which I tend to buy only occasionally and then only for Hubby's consumption. Recently I came across Friji milkshakes and thought I would buy these for a change. Initially, of course, it was because they were on special as a BOGOFF offer. Usually 500ml bottle of Friji retails in Netto for 95p, so it is not a cheap and cheerful buy.

As we are still living in a caravan, since last years flood damage to the house is in the process of being rectified, I have found that I have been eating and drinking lots of products which I would not usually consume. I tell you this as it explains how I started drinking and loving the Friji milkshakes. With limited household appliances and a distinct lack of space in the kitchen department Hubby and I tend to be eating and drinking easy options. Thirsty one evening I thought I would give a Friji a whirl and absolutely loved it. The first one I drank was a chocolate milkshake. Friji shakes are very thick and you need to give the bottle a really good shake before opening. They also taste at their best when they have been chilled in your fridge. So, this first Friji was delicious. It was very dark and really tasted of rich dark chocolate.

Next I went on to the Strawberry milkshake which was equally as scrummy. It is a nice pink colour and the taste of Strawberries is there instantly. I am told by an acquaintance that there are other varieties which are even more delicious. He recommended another chocolate offering as a dream. Unfortunately when I buy then from a local Netto store only chocolate or strawberry seem to be on offer.

A few facts.

Friji have no artificial colours or flavourings
They are gluten free and fine for vegetarians.
Friji has less than 1% fat.
For such a lovely thick and creamy drink the calories are only 65 per 100ml which is not too bad.
Friji is made with fresh milk and is rich in calcium and vitamin B12.
The milk is high temperature pasteurised.
The usually have a date of up to a couple of weeks and store easily in the fridge. Once opened of course they need to be consumed within about three days.
They are sold in a plastic bottle which has an easy twist off lid.
You will find them in the stores fridge. Netto have then near to where ordinary milk is located.

Recommendation.

I feel that it is hard to get across just how delicious these Friji milkshakes are so you will just have to trust me on this one. They are so thick that it is quite surprising the first time you drink one. The are filling and satisfying and would be ideal for a mid morning or afternoon snack especially on a hot summers day.
Lovely.

Thanks for reading

I love them and they are less sinful than a lot of other treats. I find it hard to find anything other than the chocolate and strawberry verieties naywhere, though - and the vanilla one seems to have vanished completely.
