Advantages: taste, taste, taste

Disadvantages: too heavy for some palates

This is the big gun in the Fullers arsenal, aimed straight down the throat of the ESB aficionado who is slightly disappointed by the taste of bottled ESB. It is a decidedly strong beer, but with such a complex flavour that appreciating a bottle will take the best part of an evening.
Relax with it, don't hurry, and always always always make sure that it is at room temperature- if it's been in the fridge, leave it out to relax for at least a day, even drink water, rather than cold 1845.
To me, it has the hallmarks of a good winter ale; something to be enjoyed in the dark dreary months: that said, I have been known to partake near the back end of a balmy summer evening.
