For me theres nothing more comforting that cwtching up on the sofa, just out of the bath, clean PJ's, best slippers and a nice warm mug of hot chocolate. I've tried many hot chocolates and have found alot of them are just so thin, unsatisfying and not chocolatey at all so much so that it's depressing lol! While in Iceland the other week I spotted Galaxy Instant Hot Chocolate so thought I'd give that a try, I had high hopes as I know Galaxy chocolates can be quite a luxury to eat for me, in small amounts though as I find it quite rich.

Galaxy Hot Choc drink is proudly sold in tall, attractive, and quite sophistocated looking plastic tubs. Covered in a smooth looking sticker with the fancy word Galaxy written on the front. Underneath this we are told it's an instant hot chocolate drink! Sounds sweet. At the bottom of the tub it says 'Think chocolates, Think indulgence, Think galaxy hot chocolate.' Mmm tempting.

To see the naughty goodness inside all you need to do is unscrew the brown lid on top and pierce through the gold foil. Once the foil is pierced you instantly smell the chocolate powder! Tease!

I boiled my kettle and eagerly waited for it to bubble, whilst waiting I read the easy to use instructions provided on the back - don't know why as I never take any notice anyway. On the back you are advised to add 4 heaped teaspoonfuls into a mug then pour on hot water and stir. I tend to enjoy Hot Chocs with and without milk choosing to add milk for a comfort binge late at night. As for the 4 heaped teaspoon fulls, I'd say add what you prefer depending on how chocolatey and how sweet you like your drinks.

Without milk though this drink is extremely creamy, especially those first few frothy sips. So long as you give it a thorough stir you won't find no build up of powder at the bottom of the cup either. The chocolate drink is rich in flavour and when milk is added I personally think it emphasises the flavour and sweetness which is a real treat. I don't find it overly sweet, it is a very gratifying thick, rich and smooth chocolate flavoured drink - just what I wanted. It doesn't actually taste like a Galaxy bar in my opinion, but it is definitely chocolate flavoured, I'm glad it doesn't taste exactly like the bar though as it would probably be way too sweet and sickly, especially for a drink.

Per serving with 220ml water you are provided with
115 calories
2.0g protein
19.2g carbohydrates
3.4g fat

There is allergy advice on the back advising that it contains milk and soya.

I would reccomend this hot chocolate drink to anybody looking for a chocolate fix, a comforting drink or just want to treat themselves. It really is a pleasure to drink.
