Now on to the more well known Gambrinus from the Czech Republic. Gambrinus share brewery space with Pilsner Urquell in Plzen and produce a better brew in my eyes. Gambrinus is 5.0% and very drinkable although not very adventurous, it's tangy and the bitterness of the hoppy taste is nicely equalised with a sweet malt flavour. It pours with a thick head which disappears fairly quickly but then again - so does the beer because it's exceedingly scrumptious. Its brown bottle with a creama nd red coloured label slanting sideways and golden foil over the cap at the top make it looks quite classy, I think that this is a new design as I don't always ...
