Ok let's face it. I am a good olde Cider drinker !! I have tried alot of different Alochol over the years from Lager to Vodka but have never found one I have liked as much as Cider. I am a Strongbow drinker and a nice cold pint on a summers day is just delicious. Over the past few months my friends have been raving about Gaymers Cider from the Original to the Pear. My one friend in particular is a regular drinker and made me promises to try one. I am up for trying something at least once so I thought I would give it a go. I had never heard of Gaymers and was so shocked to learn they has been brewing cider since 1770. Do I really walk ... Read the complete review

Gaymers have been making cider since 1770 and is one of the largest cider makers in the world (apparently). Although the Gaymers were producing cider in 1770 it wasn't until William Gaymer (1842-1936) came along that Gaymers entered into full scale commercial cider production. Gaymers are now based at Shepton Mallet, Somerset where they have been making Cider for the last 100 years. Gaymers produce a number of Ciders, such as Gaymers Olde English Cyder, Blackthorn Cider, Diamond White, White Star to name a few. I was having a refreshing pint of 'Thatchers' Cider (also made in Somerset) over the weekend and a friend of mine was drinking Gaymers ... Read the complete review

I am not such a fan of lager but am partial to a nice glass of cider, especially in the Summer months although, who am I kidding, I'll drink it any time! I have recently been drinking quite a lot of Swedish Kopperberg pear cider, having been introduced to this on a trip to Ikea, so it was nice to find an English version. Actually, thinking about it, I'm sure we invented it! The label has some information about Gaymers and on the back says "Established in 1770, Gaymer Cider Company has made its cider based on traditional cider pressing methods for centries. Made with English pears, this pear cider has a deliciously smooth and ... Read the complete review

Over the past few months I have become quite a fan of cider in both its apple and cider forms and have taken to buying the odd bottle at the weekend as a bit of a treat and to try and discover which brand I prefer - there are several brands and varieties so this "experimentation" is on the whole pretty enjoyable. Whilst shopping in Asda I spotted 4 330ml bottles of Gaymers Pear cider on offer for £2, well I couldn't see any reason to resist. Gaymers has been around since 1770 and, according to them, the way their cider is made is based on traditional cider pressing methods which have been used for centuries - so in theory they know how to ... I have always enjoyed cider and seem to drink this more than any other drink, however I am a Strongbow person, ocassionally I will have Magners, but have never tried Gaymers cider before, so this was new to me. Gaymers have beenmaking cider since 1770. Some brands amaze me as sometimes I think that they are quite new however when looking into them further you realise that they have been producing there products for centuries, this brand being one of them. I hadn't even heard of pear cider before, I always thought it was just apples that made cider so when I saw them in my local Bargain Booze and they were on offer for 99p each I was quite intrigued ...
