Thought Cider was Made Out of Apples (Gaymers Pear Cider)

I have always enjoyed cider and seem to drink this more than any other drink, however I am a Strongbow person, ocassionally I will have Magners, but have never tried Gaymers cider before, so this was new to me.

Gaymers have beenmaking cider since 1770. Some brands amaze me as sometimes I think that they are quite new however when looking into them further you realise that they have been producing there products for centuries, this brand being one of them.

I hadn't even heard of pear cider before, I always thought it was just apples that made cider so when I saw them in my local Bargain Booze and they were on offer for 99p each I was quite intrigued by how they were going to taste in comparison with normal cider.

Gaymers Pear Cider is quite a new product and was only launched earlier on this year, so now I know why I have never seen it about. Coming in a green chunky bottle with a green label on it representing the flavour.

Ideally the best way to serve this is over ice, some ciders don't taste great served like that but the likes of these brands it just adds to the flavour. I have never thought that cider also tastes of apples for some reason either, however when I first tasted this cider, it does have a distinct pear flavour to it that is easily recognisable.

The drink itself is great when chilled and is slightly sparkling, not to the extent though where it is too gassy. It is very sweet, however smooth bit I didn't find it as refreshing as a normal cider, which normally quenches my thirst on a hot day.

In general it was nice to try it and something a little bit different but this isn't one that I will be drinking on a regular basis as I think I will stick to my normal cider.
