“ Food quality: Organic food „
Costing £1.79, Gillian's McKeith's 'Cherry Chi Organic Juice' comes in a 200ml glass bottle, and is available from most health food stores.
The product (in the form of a dark red liquid) is said to contain 'ten revitalising herbs' which are high in antioxidants and phytonutrients (whatever they are).
I'm generally not a big believer in alternative herbal potions, but i've been drinking this product intermittently (perhaps once a month) for a couple of years, and it's one of those drinks which you can feel working its magic as it makes its way into your system! - although i'm sure this is probably just a placebo effect.
Taking a look at the ingredients shows us that, although the product is listed as being a cherry drink, the main ingredient is actually organic apple juice - 84% pure apple juice in fact. Organic cherry juice makes up another 14% of the total content, which leaves 2% for the ten revitalising herbs which I mentioned earlier. These include Ginseng Root, Astralagus Root, Tangerine Peel, Fo-Ti Root, Borage Leaves, Dandelion Leaves, Ashwaganda Root (?), Dock Stems, Liquorice, and Ginger.
Wow - quite an unusual blend.
Taste wise, you can only detect the apple and cherry flavours, and as such, Cherry Chi is a pleasant drink. It's definitely best served chilled, and if you decide to give the product a go, make sure you shake it up before drinking.
I recommend this drink as part of a detox, or just for a change. It is costly for its size though, so go easy!
A refreshing and delicious cherry juice with herbs high in antioxidants and phytonutrients.
