Advantages: Great Taste, Reasonably Cheap

Disadvantages: None

I enjoy having a tipple of malt whisky and recently purchased a bottle of Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky. I bought this 12 year old, 40%vol, 70cl bottle from Marks and Spencer at a cost of £19.99GBP.

It comes in its own sturdy beige coloured cardboard container, with a gold coloured metal lid and gold coloured metal base, with black writing about the whisky on the outside. The bottle inside is made of clear coloured glass, enabling the whisky to be viewed before you drink it. Also on the bottle is information about the drink and area.

Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from a distillery in the North Speyside area of Scotland. This is the largest of the malt producing regions of this country.

Some information about this whisky is as follows:

Only barley that is grown in Scotland is used and this is slightly peated throughout the malting process. The water used in the distilling process is from one of the tributaries of the River Spey. One of the unique characteristics of Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky is actually created by the still that is used. The shape of this still is of a medium long neck. On the outside of the cardboard container some information is written about this drink. It states that the aroma is fruity with a long dry finish.

I find the taste of Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky to be quite a bit smoother than some of the other single malt whiskies I have tried in the past. This is due to the fact that Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky is 12 years old. I find it has a slightly smokey taste and I think this enhances the pleasure of drinking it.

There is also a slight heather and honey flavouring which makes this whisky very palatable indeed. According to the labelling on the bottle it is also a suitable drink for vegetarians.

The unique qualities I find with this whisky must come from the selection of wood used for the maturing stage and the air around the
distillery.

As you would expect from Marks and Spencer this whisky (which is exclusive to them) is, I think of excellent quality. At the moment at Marks and Spencer you can save 5% if you buy 6 bottles of spirits and/or wines. So this could make it cheaper getting this drink.

Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky is bottled by Burn Stewart Distillers of Glasgow, Scotland.

I can certainly recommend buying and drinking Glen Darbach Single Malt Scotch Whisky and I will buy some more in the near future.
