Before you read on, please believe me when I say that this sort of thing doesn't happen often!! A couple of years ago, my kids were all at their Gran's in Scotland for a week. I was free, free, free!! I went out for lunch with a good girlfriend of mine to a really nice pub in Newcastle, County Down called Quinn's. We had a lovely, civilized bar lunch, and I even pushed the boat out and had a nice glasss of claret with it. I felt really guilty for drinking in daylight hours, but as you will discover when you read on, I soon got over the guilt factor. My husband rang me on my mobile and said he was going to be late home. I ... Read the complete review

Right then, how do I normally start my opinions off? With a piece of my history, and seems that I am a wee bit tipsy and I can't be bothered to change anything so here we go. My first experience of Goldschlager was not strictly Goldschlager itself. It was a drink called Strike. The drink is essentially the same, just a little stronger (about 50% compared to Goldschlager 43.5%, poxy). Anyway, too cut a long story short, all I can remember is phoning my mother up at two in the morning, telling her that I was very drunk and asking her what was she going to do about it. I think I woke up with a traffic cone on my head and my friend laughing at me, but it ... Read the complete review

It was 1996 when I first tried Goldschlager, it was long before it became widely popular and available in the UK and my American housemates at university had bought a bottle back from the states with them after Christmas. They had told us of this drink "goldschlager" that I had struggled to pronounce and indeed it had many other names before I eventually got my head round the correct pronunciation. The told us of this drink that had little bits of gold floating around in it and we all really liked the sound of it. Goldschalger is a European liqueur and comes in a bottle which has a very large base and then a thin neck, very similar to a brandy ... Read the complete review

Goldshlager is a brilliant shooter that contains flakes of gold. It has an attractive look and an addictive taste. Goldshlager comes in a quirky bottle that has a gold stamp and black writing. The thing I love most about a bottle of Goldshlager is when you shake the bottle the gold flakes swirl around it and it just looks really pretty. The taste of Goldshlager to me is pretty unique it tastes sort of sweet but leaves a spicy cinnamon aftertaste which is great at Christmas time. As soon as I start drinking Goldshlager my face heats up I'm not sure why it only happens with this drink but it's great if I'm already freezing. It has a syrup like ... Read the complete review

Well I first had Goldschlager in February 2001 (Doh that wasn't long ago was it) in my local pub/2nd home "The Tanners". Of course my friends and I felt it only wise to all have a shot and down 'em straight down. Well as you may have expected shot followed shot and each time you threw back that small glass you would feel the cinnamon liquid treacle down your throat like cough syrup. Any gold pieces caught on your tongue would disolve into the same cinnamon liquid. After a few shots you are left as what can only be described as "donald ducked" or "really f*cked". Walking around like a madman falling around here, there and everywhere. So what's so good ... Read the complete review
