Advantages: Great flavour

Disadvantages: 5% ABV, watch how many you have!

Greene King brewery has taken its fair share of criticism for how it has bought out numerous pubs and refused to accept local beers from microbreweries in a variety of areas.

Politics aside, this beer is a perfect example of why you should not judge a ciompany solely on their public actions. Abbot Ale is a beautifuly refreshing ale with a premium 5% ABV. Malty and full of flavour, this beer has actually lost a lot of its flavour in comparison to many years ago, but still is a brillant beer to have in the pub.

Easily available in most greene king pubs, as well as a myriad of others, Abbot Ale is one of the most reliable beers from Greene King. I cannot help but smile and order another pint of this stuff as often as I can. Recommended to anyone who enjoys rich, malty ales whenever they're hitting a session.

Summary: The most reliable of all the Greene King beers, (including the IPA) Abbot is a treat for any ale fan
