... almost like a bitter, despite the fact that it looks like any other lager. Taste: The smell gives away the unusual taste of Grolsch. The bitter like taste and flavour of Grolsch is quite heavy and takes a few sips to get used to. It is not really like any lager that I have ever tried. The unusual taste aside, it is quite moreish and Grolsch tastes excellent when served cold. Grolsch is quite a strong lager (5%) and the stronger alcohol content compared to other lagers (e.g. Carling) is also quite noticable. Healthy...more

...Introduction... As my mum said she was going up to our local coop I decided that I would join her and see what deals they had on lagers. I decided on a buy one get one free on Grolsch. 8 Bottles for just £4.99. Not bad at all. It was a while since I had one of these bottles so that was one of the reasons why i decided on choosing Grolsch. As you will probably know already, Grolsch is a Dutch Lager and is known for it's interesting advertising campaigns. The story of Grolsch goes way back to 1615 when Willem Neerfeldt opened a brewery in The town of Groenlo was then known as Grolle, hence the name Grolsch. ...The ...  Read the complete review

Grolsch is currently on offer at the Co-op - 4 x 275 ml bottles on Buy One Get One Free, priced at 4 pounds 99 p, so 8 bottles for the price of 4. I'm partial to the odd bottle of lager, and couldn't resist this one. What is it? Grolsch is a premium Dutch lager that has been brewed since 1615. It is available in cans and bottles, and occasionally in pubs on draught, though this is fairly rare. Packaging: The 275 ml bottles are green and recyclable. The Grolsch logo is ingrained on the bottle, and there is a small label on the neck of the bottle. Appearance: When pouring the beer into a tilted glass, it has a very appealing golden lager ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Grolsch Premium Lager: Ten Green Bottles (802 words)

I used to work with someone who was a bit of an anorak about beer. A member of CAMRA, he was the fount of all knowledge as far as the amber nectar was concerned. There didn’t appear to be anything he didn’t know about the subject. Most of what he said went in through one ear and out of the other, as my only interest in beer is drinking it, but one thing did stick in my mind. He said that beer should never be bottled in green bottles because the green glass attracts sunlight and causes ‘skunking’. I never asked him what skunking was, what it did to the beer or whether it affected the taste, but as often happens to gullible people ...  Read the complete review

Mmm... Nothing I like more than whiling away the hours sunbathing on the deckchair in my garden, with a captivating magazine, catching up on my weekly soap goss and blaring out Blur tracks from my stereo. All this whilst taking my time over a nice long cool refreshing bottle of Grolsch Premium Lager. While everyone else is wishing time away at work! Bliss! Well, that's what I've been doing today. The only reason I've come inside is because it's nearing Neighbours time and I thought I'd leave myself enough time just to make a point of telling everyone what an enjoyable day I've had. Now the reason I'm so merry right at this ...  Read the complete review

During the earlier years of my life beer was something that I consumed very regularly and was my drink of choice for a long period of time. However it is something that I have gradually reduced consuming, not because I have lost the taste for it but rather in order to try and maintain the waistline. Once in a week I do indulge myself and mostly on Saturday afternoons. My brand of choice is usually Heineken or Carlsberg but for a change last Saturday I tried Grolsch Premium Lager. Whilst I was at Tesco last week the Grolsch beer caught my attention and being that this beer is a Dutch one, I did not have too much hesitation in picking up some ...  Read the complete review
