Advantages: Quality, taste, tradition.
Disadvantages: Not all like it.
I'm a recent convert to the taste of Guinness, and have no intention of straying from the fold. Why did I not convert years ago? Maybe I wasn't ready, but now I am, and so bring it on! The taste is quite something unrivalled, compared to other stouts. You can taste the iron, and just know that this is doing you much good! Why anyone would want to drink those awful, cheap watery lagers is beyond me. Some are outstanding, but many are poor imitations. Guinness on the other hand has tradition and breeding. A full bodied, black liquid with a strong taste. Not to everyone's liking, it wasn't always to mine, but very distinguished nonetheless. I have no doubt that a pint of Guinness is money well spent, not so convinced with other beers. One thing, though, I would say to all, drink Guinness because you like it, not because it's trendy to do so. If the taste is not there at the moment, then hope that it will be one day, because a Guinness in the hand is worth anything else in the fridge.

Go to your Quack and suggest that he should prescribe Guinness to you in canisters and that you will pay for the dispenser to be installed in your kitchen. Then a repeat prescription every few days ?
Friends will help you to take your medicine ! lol.
