Harboe is a Danish type of beer which is also sold in Germany and Estonia amongst some countries, the Estonian version of the beer is the only kind I have tried. Known generally as Harboe Olled (olled is beer), the beer comes in 3 kinds - Gold, Red and Pilsener.

Unlike in its native Denmark where the beer supposedly comes in a bottle, it's more commonly found in cans in Estonia. You can tell by looking at the design of the can or bottle that the beer isn't going to be a world beater, it looks like a bog standard European supermarket beer and the Gold one which I tried had tvery little good going for it. It was drinkable but just about and didn't improve my opinion of the Harboe range (having tried their bear beer too), there was a hint of malty caramel but the finish wasn't particularly crisp, it was quite flat and overall it was lacking in flavour, a surprise considering the 5.7% abv.

This might pass for reasonable beer in Scandanavia but it's certainly the lower end of the beerometer in Estonia and I couldn't see it winning over many fans in countries like Germany or Czech Rep. Largely a disappointment.

Summary: Not one to purchase
