Advantages: it tastes nice!, it's a pretty colour
Disadvantages: not enough in a bottle
Jilly Gouldon I’m not, so I won’t try and bam’booze’al (sorry) you all by trying to explain the aroma, taste, or look of this wine by going all ‘arty farty’ on you. When someone opens a bottle of any of ‘Hardys’ wines in my house a smile comes to my face - because I know I'm going to get a lovely glass of Aussie wine. But the Grenache Shiraz has to be my favourite. I went to their website to dig a little deeper and found a couple of interesting tit-bits (scroll through this bit if all you want to know is if it gets you sozzled!) They pick the fruit in the cool of the night so as not to damage the grape (but don’t they then squish ‘em - what’s that all about?) Apparently their wines are enjoyed in over 55 countries around the world. Thomas Hardy - the man that started it all came from Gittisham, England in 1850 and tended cattle for his first job, then he married a lady called Johanna and she wanted to settle down - so he bought a block of land by the River Torrens which he call Bankside and so started his reign of producing quality wines. Right then, back to the stuff you wanted to read! It tastes absolutely wonderful, quite raspberry(ish) but not too sweet and it leaves a nice clean aftertaste so you can still enjoy the chocolate fudge cheesecake you‘re eating. It smells quite yummy as well, but I will admit that I'm not that much of a connoisseur to know what I'm talking about! It’s got a really pretty colour (made by using the two types of grape - the Shiraz for the redness and the Grenache for the softness and juiciness). It goes very well with light dishes, you know like chicken, vegetarian or fish, not paper plates!. But I drink it whenever I want - just because it’s so scrummy! You can find it in most supermarkets now, Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco etc for a few quid (£4.49 in Tescos) for the standard 75cl bo
ttle and the percentage is 10%. So yes it does get you sozzled! If you’re the person at the Restaurant or Wine Shop who says ’I don’t like Rosé’ try this one, you’ll change your mind.
