Advantages: Much tastier than Baileys.

Disadvantages: Hard to buy outside of Scotland.

As someone who loves Baileys, when I had this recommended to me as being better than Baileys, I had to try it. I bought it in Glasgow from the whiskey shop in the Buchanan galleries and, at least when I bought it, it was £11.99 for a 70cl bottle although it looks different from what is pictured.

This is the Scottish answer to Irish Cream and the company has been around since 1980. It's made from Scottish cream and single malt whiskey (also from Scotland, naturally) and while it does not taste to me at least of the coconut and chocolate tones the bottle claims, it is delicious and it IS nicer than Baileys.

It is less sweet than Baileys with a more subtle, delicate flavour. There is, to me anyway, a taste of honey, and I was thinking maybe it's Scottish heather honey, hence the name. I don't know though.

There is a website www.heathercream.com and I have asked them whether or not they do mail order; I am waiting to hear back.

Summary: My new favourite tipple.
