Advantages: Nice plain taste, good price, filtered through organic land

Disadvantages: None

I have become obsessed with drinking water. Since i've started trying to eat 'healthier' and lose some weight my water consumption has gone up massively. I drink about three litres a day. Most of that is good old tap water, but i regularly buy bottled water when i am out to satisfy my insatiable thirst! Highland Spring is one of the most recent companies that i have tried.

About Highland Spring:
They say the water is naturally filtered through land that is certified as organic by the soil association and is drawn from a protected source. It is apparantly 100% natural scottish spring water.

What you get:
I bought a 1.5 litre bottle from my local Co-op for 89p prior to a long car journey. It wasn't as cheap as their own brand water, but is certainly less expensive than the big boys such as Evian and Volvic. It is widely available in supermarkets up and down the country. It comes in a plastic bottle with a scew lid.

Storage:
It is recommended on the bottle that it should be stored in an odour free environment and away from direct sunlight. Once opened store in a fridge and use within 7 days. I have no issues with storage as i ALWAYS drink the contents on the day i buy.

What i think:
This may sound strange but i like my water to taste of nothing. A lot of so called bottled waters either taste too sweet, too bitter, metallic, even a little milky and sometimes i have experienced a chemical after taste. I found this water had none of that. It really is a natural tasting water. The water is refreshing with no hidden flavour, is totally clear and there were no 'mineral bits' floating around. As far as the organic thing goes i don't mind too much when it comes to water, however this is a nice bonus that for once you aren't paying through the nose for. A lot of waters that are much more expensive are not filtered through organic land.

I really do like this water. I was notivated to buy because of the lower price compared to other well known brands. Now i've tried it i would definately buy it again.

More info on highland spring can be found on its website www.highland-spring.com

Summary: Great water that in my opinion is much better than even higer priced waters

I know what you mean, I find volvic in particular has a strong taste for water.

Good review, but what's wrong with tap water (filtered if required)?

I am impressed with your palate - mine is very bland and as a result all mineral waters taste the same to me!
