Advantages: Tastes SO good, very good for dipping

Disadvantages: Quite fatty

I'm quite the fan of Hot Chocolate drinks - they make me fall asleep in a few seconds, especially if I've had a hard day's work or a stressful day in general, and Horlicks Malted Milk drink is certainly no exception. It's a rather pleasant alternative to taking a few shots of Vodka, and gives the same warm feeling as it slides down your throat.

A jar of Horlicks is 440g, and runs in at about £2.45. Each average serving will run you in about 4.6g of fat, or 2.6g of saturated fat which, admittedly, for a nightcap, is quite an unhealthy drink, especially when you could be sipping on the somewhat healthier Ovaltine instead.

The key to making a really magical cup of Horlicks is undeniably the amount of powder that you put in the drink - I tend to put 3-4 teaspoons in, just to ensure that it's enriched enough with flavour. I also tend to leave sugar out of the equation, as not only do I find that it makes the mix too sickly, but it is also obviously rather bad for you in large doses, and I'd rather do without it if necessary.

Even following my steps, you'll still get a rich, thick, and very creamy drink that serves as a very good nightcap, and also makes a drink perfect for dipping sweets and biscuits, as long as you remember to remove the biscuits in time! That said, it's the perfect drink to have on your bedside table as you curl up in bed with a good book, and although I find the sugar recommendations on the tub a little rich for my tastes, this is a bubbly, sweet tasting beverage that's got oodles of flavour, and is perfect for dipping biscuits in!

Summary: Unhealthy but delicious
