Advantages: Great tasting, easy to use, great for lunch boxes!

Disadvantages: Only come in a 6 pack and two flavours.

I actually saw these in a review on Ciao a couple of days ago and they sounded like a really good idea, so me and my mum decided next time we saw some, we would buy some. And after a couple of days searching, and having no avail in small shops like Co-op, Spar and Somerfield, we found them in Sainsburys.

The Product;
Fruit Squeezies are made by Innocent, the makers of Innocent Smoothie, the ones who put nothing into their smoothies other than crushed fruit, no added anything, not even added water. And these Fruit Squeezies are exactly the same. They come in two flavours, Strawberry & Rasberry flavour and Pinapple & Mango flavour. Each pack has 6 tubes of fruit inside, and they're all one flavour (they don't come in multi-flavoured packs).

The packaging is appealing, instead of the usual cardboard box, these come in a clear plastic cylinder, with a red top for the Strawberry and Rasberry and Yellow top for the Pineapple and Mango. They are advertised as "for kids", but they're perfect for anybodys lunch boxes. The front of the packaging has the well known Innocent badge, and the name of the chosen flavour on the front. They're easy to spot in the shop, and come in the fridge section along with the other Innocent mechendise, this is usually either near the yoghurts or fruit juice.

The product itself is like a Frube, the yoghurt eqivallent, and each individual pack is around 6 inches long. They have a small tear top which is quite easy top open but if you break the top, as I did the first time, you may need to use teeth or small scissors. The smoothie inside is just like home made crushed fruit, and you sqeeze it up from the bottom and into your mouth. They both taste lovely, but my favourite is definitely the Strawberry and Rasberry flavour, and I would say this is the most popular as when I went to buy them there were only two of this flavour left and a large quantity of the Yellow ones left.

They're nice and easy to use, and handle and won't burst open ruining sandwiches in the lunch box! They're like a snack and a drink all in one go.

Price:
When I saw these on Ciao, the person who has written it said the product was £2.19 each, but that most places have an offer on of two for £3. In Sainsburys at the moment though, they are selling at half price of £1.09, this offer won't last long, but I would get a packet while they're cheap so if you like them you can keep on buying them. You may be thinking this is expensive for 6 tubes of fruit, but it is good quality and one of your 5 a day, they're very tasty, and it works out at around 36p per tube, which you would probably pay more for for a piece of fruit from the school canteen. And some people have trouble getting their children to eat fruit. This is the easy way to get your 5 a day!

My Opinion:
These are a very good idea, as I said it can be hard to get kids to eat a piece of fruit if you have a fussy eater in the family, and they can make a mess if they're eating an orange, and a smelly banana skin if they have a banana, or a browning apple core with an apple, with these they're very tasty, kids don't know they're eating a piece of fruit as it's like a yogurty type thing for them, like sweets in a way! And the only rubbish left over is an empty tube which is just thrown in the bin at home, no mess.

They're not too expensive at the price they're selling at now, of £1.09 a pack, and even at £2.19 a pack, they will last a week of school lunches plus one left over for next week. And they're alot healthier than a chocolate bar!

A good idea is to pop these in your freezer, and put them in the lunch box in the morning before your child heads off to school, by the time lunch time has come, it has defrosted and is nice and cold for them! They are much nicer served ice cold, and so this is a very good idea, and it is safe to do so (it actually gives the idea on the back of the pack!).

The only thing I would say they could improve on is many making bigger packs with maybe 20 in, of a multitude fo flavours, the Innocent company make all different flavour smoothies which they could put into these, and they could make multipacks of these for bigger families, as if you have 3 kids, these are gone within two days. But maybe this is a trial small pack to see how well they sell, you never know what could happen in the future with Innocent Fruit Sqeezies!

I say go and get these while they're on offer, give them a go and if you don't like them, or your kids don't then you haven't wasted too much money on them! But we all love them here!!!!

Excellent idea for kids lunch boxes!

Summary: A great idea for all!!!! An easy way to get your 5 a day!
