I've got a new best friend, his name's Jim and he's everything I've ever wanted in a man. He's unbelievably rich, has the ability to soothe my brow when I'm feeling rough and is decidedly mellow and laid back. I've enjoyed Jim in the garden, relaxed in a hot bath with him and I even took him to bed last night and reached out for more as soon as I was finished! Jim's perfect. 'I never was down with James Dean, but I be hangin tough with my man Jim Beam.' Jim beam is a good rock 'n' roll drink, but its not John Daniels. Unfortunately, thats the bottom line. Jim B is a great drink, and I am fond of it ,don't get me wrong. Its got a nice strong flavour, its smooth, and its better than a lot of other spirits out there. Like John, Jim B is great to sip, great to shoot, and its passable as a mixer. Its not that expensive, its got that cowboy feel to it, but it just lacks the extra quality and character of John Daniels. The origins of Jim Beam date back more than 200years to Jacob Beam, the great grandfather of Jim Beam. Jacob Beam, a farmer and miller by profession built a water mill to grind corn, and for a share of their crop ground other peoples corn for them. He soon realised the complications of storing large amounts of corn, in that is moulds quickly and the safest way of storing it was to produce whisky, forward thinking as corn in this state was infinitely more valuable!
