Advantages: Delicious, caffeinated, can is re-sealable and recyclable

Disadvantages: People will assume that you have ADHD as you bounce around the room fuelled on chemicals!

Jolt Cola is a particularly tasty American soda and CX2 Cherry Bomb is - you guessed it - the cherry flavoured incarnation of said cola.

Like other flavours of Jolt Cola, this one can only be tracked down in the UK through specialist candy and beverage retailers and I've put some contacts in the next paragraph.

*Pricing and Availability*

Cherry Bomb can be purchased from Cyber Candy (www.cybercandy.co.uk) or American Soda (www.americansoda.co.uk) - a website that sees a fair bit of my custom these days.

It isn't cheap, retailing at ~£14 for six 16 oz cans (about half a litre), plus postage and packaging of £4.95 per order. Each can is approximately two servings. That said, it's possible to get a range of deals on it when they order too much etc. and if you bulk buy a selection of sweet treats the cost goes down.

*Fuel your brain with a cola from a can shaped like a battery!*

I love the Jolt Cola packaging - as it looks for all the world like an outsize battery. For America loving nerds like myself, the combination of slightly artistic and just a bit silly hits all the right buttons. It's not often that packaging deserves a mention, but this is rather funky and is also recyclable as it is made from aluminium.

*Staying awake with a face full of cherries*

Cherry Bomb is one of my favourite versions of this highly caffeinated drink. It's equal parts delicious cola and fragrant cherry - no doubt achieved with a wide range of flavourings. I'm not saying this is necessarily a good thing, but it tastes fantastic, with an almost floral 'bouquet' :D Prior to this I'd believed the claim from Pepsi that their Wild Cherry cola was the best cherry cola (I know, these companies make some silly claims!) Now I'm not so sure and I highly recommend this to fans of flavoured colas.

It's fizzy without going all over the place when you open the can, as is often seen when sweeteners have been used in a drink. As well as this, it keeps the fizz well and is fine in the fridge for a couple of days if you don't want to down the whole can.

It contains double the caffeine of 'regular' cola and this, combined with the sources of sugar in the drink, will have you buzzing for a couple of hours. The downside is that you may get a bit of a 'lag' a few hours later, more from the sugar hit subsiding than anything else.

This contains slightly more calories than Coca Cola and some of the substances used to sweeten it aren't very good for you. If you're an energetic individual this could always be used after a short gym session, or if you're out and about all day. A sweet treat, but it really should be an occasional one.

I'm giving this one all five stars. It's the best cherry cola I've ever tried, keeps you awake for quite a while and is the height of imported soda chic!

Summary: A great tasting cherry cola with a handy caffeine kick
