Occasionally slagged off, I feel that Kasztelan gets an unhealthy wrap, perhaps because it is often served on the tap in the type of bar which doesn't clean their taps too often. Kasztelan is a sort of second-tier Polish beer not as common as the big names but still relatively easily to find and in most supermarkets and some bars, Kasztelan is from Sierpc, 120km north-west of Warsaw and was acquired by the Carlsberg group in 2001 having previously been owned by Bitburger, the German brewery.
