Advantages: tastes and smells divine
Disadvantages: None!!
One of my sins is drinking far too much coffee - this is also one of the few things I can't go "value" on - a decent cup of coffee is a must for me!
I normally buy Nescafe but Kenco was on offer so I decided to give it a whirl
This particular one comes in a stout glass bottle (made from 35% recycled glass)with a red lid which unscrews, a red label with the words Kenco in large white lettering and really smooth underneath it.
Currently priced in tesco at £2.58 for 100g it is slightly more expensive than nescafe at £2.14 for 100g.
Kenco is a product of "Kraft foods" and is freeze dried, golden roasted for superior taste. 75% of the beans they use come from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and they hope to get this to 100% eventually. Only high quality beans are used - such as Arabica ones.
So put a good teaspoon of coffee in your mug, add boiling water stir and top up with milk and sugar as required.
The taste - one word describes it to me - heaven!!
It truly does have a superior taste to nescafe - even though this is the "smooth" type it has a much richer flavour. There is absolutely no bitter aftertaste and it dissolves in the water nice and quickly.
There is only one problem with this - I am now even more addicted to coffee and won't go back to the slightly cheaper Nescafe so some of the savings I have made on other weekly products have been lost because I am buying this now!
Summary: A very decent coffee for a decent price

- 14/10/08 You might want to correct your title typo - it's 'connoisseur'. Nice review - I love Kenco! (Much much better than Nescafe - bleugh.) |
