Advantages: Tasty, Wakes You Up, Easy To Prepare

Disadvantages: Not Cheap, Nothing Special

After running out of Nescafe coffee, we decided to try out this Kenco Really Smooth variety. It actually tastes quite nice but it's definitely not up to scratch with Nescafe. I think I may have added a little too much milk or diluted the coffee too much as I have a large mug, but it didn't taste great.

The coffee costs £4.92 for a 200g glass container of the instant coffee. This isn't cheap like all other instant coffee, but it's not too bad as it will last you quite a while depending on how many coffees you have a day!

The coffee comes in a glass container, with a maroon label and plastic lid. The plastic lid easily screws off and there is a golden piece of foil covering the coffee, which is there to keep it fresh. The coffee granules are quite small and brown in colour. The coffee has caffeine in it, so will also have the corresponding effects including the all important 'wakes you up' effect.

You should put one teaspoon of the granules in a mug and add boiling hot water. If you like black coffee or are lactose intolerance, you just give it a stir with any sugars or sweeteners and it's ready. If not, you can add some milk and even cream until it gets to a lighter brown colour, but don't add too much or it takes away the flavour of the coffee. I wouldn't have it in too large a mug either as it dilutes the flavour much too much.

In conclusion, it does taste quite nice as long as you prepare it properly. It does seem to be quite a smooth blend, but it doesn't taste much different to most coffees. I'd recommend trying it.
