Advantages: nice smooth, nice drink

Disadvantages: none

I was looking for some instant coffee the other day as we had ran out and the hubby forgot to tell me so after coming home from shopping, I had to nip out to the local Spar.

On offer for £1.69 was the NEW Improved Ground Coffee Tasting Kenco Really Smooth. When i price it up against the other coffees, it seemed a good buy. So there it was stuck in the basket, waiting to be transported home.

It is quite an unusal design jar and is a squareish in shape with the corners rounded so that there is no sharp sides on the transparent glass jar. You can see the granules right through the jar so from this I can see that the product has not been damaged in transit.

The coffee lid is round with Kenco standing out from the red lid. The edges are not smooth but rounded like a 50p but a lot more sides to it.

The labelling is quite simple and is te same colour red as the lid and it is the 100g jar that we are talking about. The product lasts until January 06.

If you turn the lid anti clockwise it opens but it is stiff and for those with arthritis, just to let you know that your rubber jar twister opens this in a jiffy. if you turn it clockwise it gets closed tight.

So there I am with this jar and I open the lid and take a whiff and wow, instantly you can smell a very strong smell of ground coffee. Since I am a coffee coholic, this suits me fine.

The coffee chips as I call them are a medium brown in colour and the jar is full to the brim which is unusual for some manufactuers.

I put in a heaped teaspoon into my coffee cup and the smell as the water hit the coffee was of a rich strong coffee. I added a little milk and boy was it strong. Maybe a bit over strong, so the next time I made it, i just put in a little level teaspoon full and it made the perfect coffee
. Rich and smooth and it did not leave a nasty aftertaste in your mouth like most coffees do.

As you drank it, you could taste the ground coffee and this made it all the better and by adding milk, it did not take away any of the taste that happens with others.

I would say that this is for anyone who likes coffee as you can have it strong, medium or weak. It smells life fresh perculated coffee and not manufactured and not a false taste either.

It never left any sort of residue in the bottom and it did not float on the top of my mug like some that I have had in the past where when you taste it you go ewwwww!

You can buy Kenco in all supermarkets and local shops might have it and at £1.69 I will be buying it again.

If you want more information from Kenco, you can email them at kenco.coffeeline@krafteurope.com

So the kettle is now on, hands up if you want a coffee, sorry no sugar in the house, and limited to 12 cups in the house only, (unless you are posh and I have 12 cups)
