Advantages: smooth and mellow
Disadvantages: maybe not strong enough for your taste
I had guests to stay this weekend and, as a thank you for their lovely time they bought me a big box of biscuits and a huge jar of coffee bless them. So I'm having a cup now, made with milk, Mmmm lovely. When I opened the jar to take a big sniff (being very careful not to snort it!) I was surprised by the smell. it doesn't really smell like coffee to me, more like burnt toast! So as you can imagine, I wasn't really looking forward to trying it that much after all. But in the interests of DooYoo earnings I gave it a go. I'm now on mug number three, it's lovely! As I said before I make my coffee with milk, sometimes with a generous slug of Baileys, but I've none left at the moment so I've had to take it straight. So I heated the milk and added a heaped teaspoon of coffee to the mug, gave a quick stir round and I'm back at the PC, sipping away in absolute bliss! It does smell a lot more like coffee should once you get the hot milk into it by the way. Although I added a heaped teaspoon it's quite a smooth, mild sweet flavour, so it may not be strong enough for you especially if you?re an espresso lover! It does taste stronger if you like to make it with water and just a splash of milk, but I don't like coffee made like that unless its filter coffee, which is different altogether. This has kind of an in-between granules and powder form to it. I'm not quite sure whether that is intentional or not, but it mixes and blends very nicely and thoroughly into the hot milk without leaving any lumpy bits floating around on the top. You may like that on the top of your coffee, I hate it, so I'm pleased about that. Although I don't know the price, as this was a gift, I do seem to remember that it is cheaper than the brand we normally buy which is Nescafe Gold Blend. Speaking of price though, this particular jar has 50% free on it so I'm sure it was an absolute bargain! There's no
t a lot of information on the jar itself but there is a free phone coffee advice line if you want to ask them any questions about the coffee(0808 100 8787) and an email address, kenco.coffeeline@krafteurope.com Anyway I like it so be sure to get some in for when I call round, I take two sugars and I'll bring the biccies!

- 19/08/01 Good op, but I'll stick to my Nescafé thanks. I found Rapport to be a bit on the weak side. I like to taste my caffeine. Pearl :) |

- 14/08/01 I've had a free sample in the handy 'tube' packs - a bit mild for me. Good op though. |

- 13/08/01 Enjoyed your op, but I'm not keen on this coffee I'm afraid! |
