I am a self confessed 'coffee nut' - or should it be 'coffee bean'? Anyway you like it, I will drink coffee - morning, noon and night - and as I write this I have a cup at my side (it's actually one I made earlier!)
Those of us who love our coffee will tell you 'theres nothing like the REAL Thing' and the closest - in my opinion - you can come to the 'REAL' thing in - an instant - is KENCO REALLY RICH.

I can remember those TV Ads with the Kenco coffee rep touring the South American bean farms, "But here try this" as she hands him a cup of Kenco instant. "it's the REAL thing". OK, I know that catch phrase was from the Coke adverts, but surely you remember - you know what I mean. But does it live up to expectations and the hype?

With the resurgence of interest in coffee drinking - Starbucks, Costa(lot) Coffee, Coffee Rebublic et al, we have now become a nation of coffee lovers, almost as bad as the Americans. But we live our lives in a hurry and cannot always spend time at home 'perking' up a perfect cup. The next best thing is the instant stuff.

Having been 'brought up on Maxwell House' (how average does that taste?) and parents preference for Tea or 'cheap and cheerful' coffee, it really is nice to be able to have choice in the instant market for good coffee.
But Kenco is the brand for me. Even surpassing the 'past master' of Nescafe Gold Blend. Easy to make (it's got to be easy for me to be able to make it!). Just add three quarters of a teaspoonful to your cup, pour on boiling water, add milk (I find I prefer sterilised, full fat milk - or cream - or even 'tip top'), sugar if you need to and enjoy. My wife used to make coffee by putting milk into the cup first, then adding the coffee and water - often having bits of 'stuff' floating around the top. I know that the 'stuff' is just the granules and that they do
gradually dissolve, but it does not look very pleasant.

If you don't think there is much difference between this and your regular brand, try once in a while taking a 'smell test'. Just take the top of your normal jar of coffee - whichever make you use - and see what it smells like. Does it smell like the coffee you use when making filter coffee in your percolator or Cafetiere? If it does, it's probably because you are already using Kenco - if not (and some smell NOTHING like coffee should smell), then quite obviously, it won't TASTE like coffee - Will it?

And also these days it does not cost that much more to buy the real stuff. Many High Street Supermarkets will have special promotions on at a given time. Take this as a chance to try something different. KENCO REALLY RICH (either the red label or the darker label with the richer blend) is usually around £2.35 for a 100g jar - with the likes of Nescafe or Maxwell House being £1.90. Not much of a premium to pay for the best, I would contend. But if your preferred supermarket chain has Kenco on 'special' or maybe a BOGOF (Buy one Get One free) - try some ...then go back for more and stock up. I will guarantee that if you really do enjoy good coffee you will not go back to a cheaper brand.

Summary:
