Advantages: Relaxing , Great Taste, Mid range price

Disadvantages: None

I once got into an argument with a bartender who didn’t have Kingfisher beer and was trying to hype ‘Buttons’ ( Burtons actually , but Buttons was how he pronounced it ) . His contention was that all beers were nothing but barley water and fizz and would shortly transform into similar colored ‘pizz’ . I retorted that maybe he had connected a pipe from the john to his spigot . I never did go back there again as his remarks reminded me of one of our Prime Ministers Morarjee Desai , a great advocate of recycling pizz .

Kingfisher or KF as it’s termed here in Bangalore is the most popular beer , especially in South India . Apart from this it’s also got a sizable overseas presence . It’s available as draught or in 650 ml or 330 ml bottles and also in cans or tins . It’s also available in bottles as regular , strong and diet .

Having tried UB, Burton’s , Heineken , Stroh’s , Kalyani and several others which may randomly be categorised as stronger , lighter , foul tasting ,cheaper or costlier , I can emphatically say that though ‘to each his own poison ‘, mine would be KF just for its taste .
My personal preference is the 330 ml bottle , enough to give you a very light buzz that shows you the light .
The closest that comes to it is Heineken but at double the price .

Cheers !
