With this lovely hot weather we've been having, I've been more and more in need of tasty and refreshing cold drinks . Whilst browsing Tesco aisle today, I came across Kopparberg Ciders in various varieties, on offer at £1.57 a bottle (they normally retail at £2.09). I decided to slip a few varieties into my basket, and sat down later this evening to enjoy my nice cold drinks. Opening the bottle and taking a hearty sniff gives you a strong scent of Elderflower, fading slightly into light fresh lime. Pouring this into a glass, its surprisingly clear - in fact, it looks like mildly fizzy water . Tasting it , it's clean and fresh, with Elderflower being ... Read the complete review

I enjoy a nice cool cider once in awhile. I don't like beer at all, so cider is a nice option that isn't complicated (I do not want to own a several hundred page book just in order to mix myself a drink) or pink (just guaranteed to get me mocked). Last year I developed acid reflux and now have to be careful about acidic foods and drinks. Unfortunately I found myself feeling ill after drinking cider proper cider which is quite acidic. By this I mean a few minutes after drinking it, not the hangover type of ill! When I was in my local JD Wetherspoons around a year - 18 months ago I found this brand of pear cider - Kopparberg. I thought I'd give it a go, and loved it - crisp, refreshing, sweet - could drink it all day, so moreish, and went down like juice. I was aware there was a summer fruits and a mixed fruits, and a non-alcoholic version, then one day I saw the elderflower and lime version of the drink! I was shocked to be honest, didn't think the two flavours would go together, especially as a cider, an alcoholic drink. It had to be tried - so I bought a couple of bottles (one is never enough to get the true feel!!). At 4% alcohol, quite low for a cider, ... Read the complete review

I love the pear version and was really excited when I saw this sitting next to it in Tesco, and I think I like it but I'm not sure... This is an apple based cider with hints of elderflower and lime, it doesn't taste like an alcoholic drink in anyway-which can always be dangerous! Like other elderflower drinks its very dry. You can't taste any lime in there at all. Conversely it tastes very sweet but has quite a tart undertone. It was very refreshing but I couldn't drink more then a couple at one time. If you like the pear, I would recommend trying this but it isn't quite as good as the original version. Launched in March, apparently it one of their ... Read the complete review
