Advantages: Great taste

Disadvantages: Expensive

It's a testament to Koppaberg Pear Cider that I'll drink the stuff, because I find most Ciders like Strongbow pretty so-so - I'll drink it if it's the only thing available, but certainly not by preference by any means. Koppaberg is a little different from other Ciders - it's not so saccharine and tangy, but has a taste that's still sweet but not as intrusive. It has a strong Pear taste, and although at 4.5% ABV, it's a lot weaker than a lot of Ciders, it's still a great drink either in the pub, or at home with some ice on a hot Summer's day.

Originally, it was only available in bottles, but after many requests cans were eventually released - it's quite a classy drink, so I prefer to drink it out of a bottle (and just because bars always serve it in bottles too). Whilst it does taste far better than a lot of Ciders, it is unfortunately very expensive. Prices I've seen in pubs tend to average at about £3, and even the individual cans and bottles in Tesco tend to retail at about £1.50 each, which is obviously quite a lot more than Strongbow cans and such. Still, you are paying for quality, and if you quality over quantity, then this is the way to go.

Summary: Pricey but proves why
