Best Beer for Boiling Hot Britons? (Kronenbourg Blanc)

Advantages: Amazing Taste, Quite Unique

Disadvantages: Hard to Put Down!

I wandered into a bar about 2 years ago with a mate and ordered a main-brand lager. The bar worker told us that the Kronenburg Blanc they had on draught was being discontinued due to lack of sales and they were selling if off at 50p per pint. It looked a little different, and I enjoy wheat/white beers, so we gave it a go. Around 4 pints later I was still amazed at the taste and quality of this beer and have been trying to coerce friends and family to buy this ever since!

The other Dooyoo review for this beer is very detailed and comprehensive in terms of the history of the brewery and the nature of the beer, so I'll restrict my review to more aesthetic matters (although I'd heartily recommend reading the other review as well!). However, I can back-up the statement that this really is a summer drink with a fantastic taste!

It's a very light beer in terms of colour, taste and digestion, and it goes well with barbecues and also sit down meals (particularly fish, pasta and chicken dishes). It has got a pronounced citrus taste which isn't dissimilar to Hoegaarden, although at 5% this is a little stronger.

Which brings me to it's main drawback - I know this sounds a little cheesy, but it is so light, tasty and refreshing that one beer can soon turn into two, three, four etc.!

It can be a little pricey in main supermarkets, but I recently picked up a couple of larger sized bottles (around 500ml I think) for a pound each at a discount shop!

Summary: Well Worth a Go, A Great Tasting Refreshing Beer
