As I've mentioned in previous reviews I regard Rosé wine as a safe bet when it comes to purchasing a wine that guarantees a reasonably satisfying taste. Some choose Rosé in order to avoid the risk of picking up a harsh red or stale white. A slightly off Rosé often goes unnoticed as its sweetness often masks the taste. As such, the only risk with a Rosé is the tendency for some brands to be a little too sweet. Kumala Zenith Rosé falls into this category. Zenith Rosé is a South African wine made from red grape varieties. Supposedly a small percentage of French oak is fermented with the wine in order to develop its strawberry flavour and creamy aroma. I like a nice glass of wine every now and again but I don't like expensive wine too much because I think it always tastes too bitter while cheaper wine suits my taste much better. I do like Kumala though so I treated myself to a bottle of Kumala Zenith Rose when I saw it on special offer in Sainsburys. I like Rose wine because it is that nice balance between boring white wine and heavy red. Zenith Rose told me on the bottle label that this would remind me of strawberries and cream but I didn't hold out much hope for this because I am one of those people who can never taste the 'notes' whatever they are in wine. I love wine and am always keen to try something new. I usually drink white wine but occasionally like a glass of rosé. Browsing the wine aisle in my local Tesco I came across Kumala rose reduced from £4.99 a bottle to only £2.37 a bottle. As Kumala is a well-respected brand I decided to buy several bottles. Kumala wines are from vineyards in the western cape of South Africa. The climate there is idea for growing grapes as it enjoys a Mediterranean type climate.
