Advantages: Excellent beer, humorous name
Disadvantages: Lack of availability Poland and internationally
Well after my last review of the reasonable but toilet worthy Kunter Mocny, you'd be forgiven from staying away from the brand but their Export version.. which I suppose is made for export but in reality is probably not even exported but contains the essential ingredients to make it last longer in transit.
Kunter Export is a decent brand, it has the design features of a Lithuanian beer and whilst the taste doesn't quite touch one of my favourite Svyturys beers, the style definitely attracted me (that and the fact I decided to review every beer the brewery made!) There's something about a gold and white label on a brown beer bottle which appeals.
This is a tasty and appealing beer with a notorious barley taste to it, something that is definitely under-rated in beers these days, it's not overpowering but acts in a complimentary way to the nice bitter hops and sweet malt flavour to create a neutral but flavourful beer!
Not bad at all, there's quite a bit of carbonation and a medium sized head, the golden colour makes it look like a "hollywood" beer, now all it needs a bit of promotion and whoosh it should be on it's way to fame!
In Poland this is one of the cheapest beers on the market but a lack of availablity is surely doing it's sales injustice, this could prove a very popular international choice if it was as available as say Tyskie or Zywiec and I'm sure it would remain cheaper than either of those.
Alcohol: 6.2%
Extract: 12.1%
Summary: Under-rated beer
