I suspect that it may be here for foreign workers from Ukraine and Russia as it doesn't seem to have a particularly large Polish following. Kvas is a favourite drink of mine, first introduced to me about 5 years ago in Lithuania where it is known as Gira. I'm not the only one who likes it - it is generally the no.1 selling non-alcoholic drink in former Soviet countries and has some fans in other Central and Eastern European countries too. The ubiqutious yellow tanks with an old lady or man pouring plastic glasses of the stuff for pedestrians mark many a street corner in Russia or Ukraine. In the Baltic countries, it tends to be sold in bottles by large companies - sales outsell Coca-Cola.
