Vikquest Lanson Black Label: ... ever so sorry but I've moved this to the Pommery section. If I could figure out how to delete the post I would. There does'nt seem to be that facility so I guess I'll have to leave it and let the moderator wipe it. Sorry if I've annoyed anyone, it was unintentional. Leolover Lanson Black Label
... nights in a bar in the centre of London...Freedom...Excitement...Happiness. I associate Champagne with happiness and feeling good. It's about celebrating life, marking a special moment in time, putting aside all the bad things that go on and paying homage to all the good things. Nothing else captures and prolongs that feelgood effect in quite the same way. My favourite champagne is Lansons Black Label. This is not necessarily because it tastes better than all the others - most of the popular brands taste good - it's because this was the first bottle I shared with my current man, and I'll always associate it with the wonder of that new relationship a...

... Black Label is not the most well known Champagne but it is well on the way to being THE major champagne house. Yes Yes Krug, Veuve Cliquot they are all very good. The problem is they are also very pricey. Like alot of the Champagne houses; Lanson has produced a reasonably priced bubbly and Lansons is by far the best and tastes great. This particular Champagne is for when you need to watch you budget but still want "The Real Thing". Being priced nearly a fiver less than your normal champagnes, should you be having a large bash it will help keep the cost down. For the palate a dry fruity wine, you can actually taste the Chardonnay and a faint citrus flav...

WHISTLINGTOADS Lanson in general
... tried Lanson Ivory Label Champagne, purchased in France but I've seen it in Wine Merchants over here. It is a pale yellow Champagne with medium sized bubbles (yes bubble size is important for quality; smaller is better). It has a medium dry taste which is not bitter and a mild fruity taste on the pallette. It is not acidic and has no vinegar-type taste as found in some other champagnes. Served with Fish and Chips it is delicious (totally decadent). It also goes well with Belgian chocolates. It costs about £9.00 in Sainsbury's in Calais which is tax paid but it may cost up to twice that amount in the UK because of our tax system. After drinking a bottle...
