(Shocking I know, but terrible things happen in fairy tales. There s a happy ending I promise). This was a very sad time for the country, and many people wailed and beat their breasts in protest. However, one brand of whisky managed to sneak past the ban and make it into the country, rejoicing the hearts of people. That whisky was Laphroaig. 	Laphroaig 10 Year Old Whisky ... it's a grand drop of scotch indeed. I do like a good single malt and I have tasted a few I must admit. I have a distinct preference for the classic malts but sometines divert to savour others. Over the years I have aquired a taste for the rather stronger flavour of Islay malts and one week while shopping in Tesco, just before Christmas, I saw they were selling single malts vat free. I bought a 10 year old Laphroaig and over the next two weeks enjoyed every drop. I like my scotch poured over ice and love to watch the tiny drops of moisture form on the outside of the cut glass and run down the side highlighted against the pure amber liquid inside. 	Laphroaig 10 Year Old Whisky ... is one of the most richly flavoured whiskies found in the world, as some of you know it is not my personal favourite but it rates right up there. The standard bottle most commonly found in the shops is the ten-year-old whisky and it retails for around the twenty-pound mark. It is fermented to 40% volume and is available in 70cl and Litre bottles. The bottles themselves are plain indeed, no fancy labels or strange shapes for this malt.
